The Intergenerational Report (IGR) assesses the sustainability of current government policy over the next 40 years. The sixth IGR examines the forces that shape Australia’s economy including population ageing, expanded use of digital and data technology, climate change and the net zero transformation, rising demand for care and support services, and increased geopolitical risk and fragmentation.

About the Speaker
Leo Soames is Director of the Public Expenditure Modelling Unit in the Budget Policy Division of Treasury. Budget Policy Division is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the IGR. Leo is an experienced public sector economist with a background in productivity analysis and economic policy, and has worked previously at the Productivity Commission, Australian Bureau of Statistics, and Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts in economic analysis and policy advice roles.
