DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;Transparency and credibility of economic research
Economics is facing a credibility crisis. This crisis is visible in economic policies that routinely disappoint. In this seminar\,&nbsp\; Professor&nbsp\;Chris Doucouliagos&nbsp\;will discuss the nature of this crisis and provide an overview of recent global efforts to improve the credibility of economic research.
About the speaker
Professor&nbsp\;Chris Doucouliagos&nbsp\;received his PhD from Monash University in 1996\, under the co-supervision of Ian Ward and Julian Teicher. Before entering academia\, he worked as a research economist for the ANZ Banking Group. In the past three years\, he has served on the Board of Directors of the European Public Choice Society.

Professor&nbsp\;Doucouliagos's areas of research span primary data analysis and meta-regression. He is particularly interested in the credibility of empirical research (economics\, psychology\, and medicine). Currently\, he is working on labour market and economic development issues\, largely within a political economy/public choice framework.
