END OF YEAR EVENT AND AGM

Peter Martin: lessons learned from 40 years reporting economics

Peter Martin will reflect on what has turned out to matter and not matter in 40 years of covering Australian economic issues in real-time for the ABC, newspapers including The Age and online publications including The Conversation. He will also reflect on the limits to what can be communicated to the public and take questions.

About The Speaker

Peter is economics editor of The Conversation and a former economics editor of The Age. In 2016 he was made a Distinguished Alumni of Flinders University in recognition of his contribution to the community's understanding of economics. In 2019 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service as an economics journalist.
