To: Tuesday July 2, 2024, 7:00 pm
Join us as Ingrid Burfurd explains how Australia can become a renewable energy superpower in a world with commitments to net-zero carbon emissions.
About the Speaker
Ingrid leads Economic Policy at the Superpower Institute. She was previously a Senior Associate at the Grattan Institute, a PostDoc at Melbourne University, and a Lecturer at RMIT University. She has also worked on a UNFCCC Panel evaluating the Kyoto Mechanism's Clean Development Mechanism. Ingrid has Honours and PhD degrees in Economics from the University of Melbourne.
The Superpower Institute (TSI) has been established by economists Ross Garnaut and Rod Sims to give climate change a central role in Australia’s economic debates. TSI advocates for a suite of policies that would allow Australia to capitalise on its comparative advantage, and to prosper while making a substantial contribution to global emission reductions.
