About the Stan Kelly Lecture with Craig Emerson
All are welcome to attend this free public lecture
The 2023 Stan Kelly lecture will be given by Craig Emerson, the former federal minister for trade and competitiveness and now leading market economist.
Craig will be introduced by the President of the Victorian Branch of the Economic Society of Australia, Alex Millmow
About the Lecture
Government support for global economic integration is at its lowest ebb since the formation of General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) in 1948. The GATT was created to prevent a third world war. Now, in the United States, there is bipartisan support for protectionism, and protectionist sentiment is rising in many countries. Dr Emerson will outline his plans to revive trade liberalisation.
