The Victorian Branch of the ESA is proud and indeed honoured to announce that on Thursday, 30 November at the Kelvin Club from 5.30 pm we will have Geoff Blainey talk about ‘Economic history and the Causes of War’.
Geoff Blainey has been writing best-selling history books since the 1960s with his most famous book The Tyranny of Distance (1966) still in print. He will soon be releasing a revised edition of his book The Causes of War.
His talk will be followed by Professor Joan Beaumont (ANU) discussing some of the findings of her recently published book Australia’s Great Depression (2022) with the subtitle how a nation shattered by the great war survived the worst economic crisis it has ever faced.
There is no charge to attend this seminar, however, booking via the link below is essential.
