The topic Jakob Madsen will be presenting on Inequality, Innovations and Globalisation. Jakob will trace income inequality in the OECD over the past two centuries. A common path across countries is the marked decline in inequality over the period 1916-1980; however this has since trended upwards Jakob will provide an explanation for this path. Jakob Madsen holds the Xiaokey Yang Chair in Business and Economics at Monash University and has previously held professorial positions at Brunel University (London) and University of Copenhagen. Jakob is ARC Professorial Fellow and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences. His research interests are in macroeconomics, the macroeconomics of inequality, endogenous and unified economic growth, stock and house price valuation,  macrofinance, history of economic growth, and applied econometrics. Jakob has published more than 100 scientific articles - many in the top field journals.
