Women in Economics joins the Melbourne Institute Outlook Conference

The Women in Economics Network is proud to be taking part in the Melbourne Institute Outlook Conference, to be held on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 October 2018. The Outlook Conference is the leading national forum on economic and social policy in Australia, bringing together thought-leaders and policy influencers for rigorous discussion of the issues facing Australia today.

Program highlights

As part of the conference program, WEN will be hosting a discussion table at the Roundtable Breakfast on Friday 12 October on the topic of The economics of care: How do we recognise its true value and why does this matter for gender equality?

Among the rest of the Outlook Conference program, you will find strong female representation with speakers including Lucy Brogden, Karen Chester, Melinda Cilento, Dr Luci Ellis, Kathryn Fagg, Hon. Kelly O’Dwyer, Professor A. Abigail Payne, Professor Judith Sloan, Diane Smith-Gander, Professor Miranda Stewart, Catherine Tanna, Jennifer Westacott, and Senator Hon. Penny Wong.

Conference registration information

WEN members will be entitled to a 30% discount off conference registration fees. Information on how to register for the conference at the discounted WEN rate has been sent to all current WEN members. WEN Cocktail Party

The Conference will close with a Cocktail Party networking function on Friday 12 October at 5pm-7pm at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, co-hosted by WEN and the Melbourne Institute. All WEN members are invited to attend the Cocktail Party for free, even if you are not attending the rest of the conference.
