The National Energy Guarantee: A Grand Plan or much ado about very little? Some initial thoughts

This month’s talk is from Bruce Mountain, Director of Carbon and Energy Markets and co-founder of retail market data and market intelligence provider, MI Retail Energy.

Synopsis 

The Energy Security Board recently released its third design of the National Energy Guarantee and the Council of Australian Governments’ Energy Council asked for development to the next stage to proceed. In this presentation Bruce Mountain will describe the latest proposal and present some initial analysis on its vices and virtues.

About the speaker

Bruce Mountain is an energy economist with specialisms in the economic regulation of networks and in the design of electricity markets and renewable energy policies. He has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Power Systems Engineering from the University of Cape Town, a PhD in Economics from Victoria University and is qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in England.


The evening is being held 5.30pm Wednesday 16 May 2018 at the Kelvin Club 14-30 Melbourne Place, just off Russell St. There will be drinks and nibbles from 5pm for those who can get there a bit earlier.
